How Do You Make Text Bold in Deviant Art
Immune HTML on deviantArt
(by Tobias, Mar 12, 2004 )
on deviantArt you can merely use HTML to format your postings, that ways, when you desire to showtime bolding your text, you write <b> and when you want to stop bolding again, yous write </b> .. this goes for all the other tags too:
The Usual Formatting Tags
<b>: assuming
<i>: italic
<u>:
Lists
<ul>, <li>:
- ul and li
are used for lists, similar points you want to consummate - each <li>your text</li> will get a indicate on its ain.
<ol>, <li>:
- ol and
- li
are used for ordered lists, if you experience similar numbering something - each <li>your text</li> will get a point on its ain.
Other Formatting Tags
: superscript (sup) (like in 1st)
: subscript (sub) (the opposite)
<lawmaking> and <tt>:
<acronym>: welcome to <acronym title="deviantArt">DA</acronym> would get "welcome to
DA"
<em>: em and (to emphasize)
<potent>: potent tags (to print things in a strong mode)
<abbr>: "don't utilize <abbr title="abbreviations">abbr.</abbr>" would become "don't use abbr."
<a href="some link" title="mouse-over-description">Text</a>: Text hyperlinks: these are those little texts you can click to get to a unlike page (the title="description" you lot can put there if y'all like, but you don't take to. it would be displayed if someone hovers the link with the mouse)
Indenting Text
Also, you can use for a forced infinite - a infinite that will displayed in any case (unremarkably if you put two or more spaces behind each other, only one will be displayed)
Fifty-fifty if it'south non really intended for, you can indent text by writing <ul>Your text</ul>.
If y'all are unsure - try sending what you want to write in a note to yourself, so you can see how it would wait like .. alternatively, you can also become hither due north.n
Subscriber Tags
Subscribers may use the following tags in their periodical equally well:
<img src="http://url_to_picture.jpg" alt="clarification" />: to include images in their periodical (they must be hosted on a different server, not on deviantArt). The clarification you put there will be displayed if the image cannot be loaded for whatever reason. Note that you lot accept to be a subscriber - if y'all need a identify to put your image, try imageshack! ^^
Subscribers can type <div align="middle">Your Text</div> and <div align="right">Your Text</div> to center or to correct-align their text on their journals. This works for all the text and the images (basically everything) that's later the first "div" tag and the closing "</div>" tag, after which information technology volition exist left-aligned once again.
<cut>any text you desire</cut>: this will "cut out" the text on your journal .. if someone reads your journal on your deviantPage, they'll meet a link with "read more" instead of the cut out text, which they can click to view your full journal. it'southward a skilful way to keep your journal all tidy on your deviantPage.
<strike>text to strike through</strike>: this volition make a text appear
through
Read hither for more than information most subscriber features.
Fifty-fifty more goodies
if you need information of how to easily link other deviants, include their avatars or even thumbnails (subscriber's periodical but) in your journals, posts and other comments, accept a look here.

Hehe, I support the FAQ too, I helped maintaining information technology for a year or and then ^^ These are manufactures I really wrote before got on staff on deviantArt, trying to be as detailed as possible with things you can practise, kind of as a reference sheet, and so people looking for it through google or such find it too ^-^ |
|
thank you so much for posting this invaluable data~ :3 Very helpful!! |
|
Yous're welcome, and give thanks you for your dainty words, they're much appreciated ^-^ |
|
| ||
This is useful, since the FAQ does not provide a comprehensive listing of the tags that piece of work. <p> also works, which yous oasis't mentioned here. Practice you know of whatsoever other tags that might work? I was disappointed that inline styles would not piece of work on the div tags, such every bit to add a border or change the margins.
|
Thanks ^-^ There are two I know that work likewise, namely the <p> that yous mentioned, as well equally the <br /> tag, but y'all can also achieve the same effect by merely hitting enter, which is why I didn't include it in the list - y'all're right though, I probably should put it at that place for completeness' sake. |
|
This is so helpful! I capeesh someone taking the fourth dimension to put something similar this up..I'd been trying to figure it all out for the longest time:P |
|
Thanks ^-^ As for the mood: and listening to: thingies, you need to be a subscriber for that to work (your periodical looks like this then), but of course, you can just e'er add it yourself at the peak of your journal entry past merely writing information technology out ;iii |
|
| ||
thanks. helped a lot. encounter you around in deviantart
|
Cheers for helping me that stuff! XD |
|
| ||
where do i accept to paste or enter those codes( on deviantART) :S ?
|
Most codes you can apply in all of your posts - the ones under "Subscriber Tags" however you tin merely apply in your journal (if you lot take a paid subscription to deviantArt). |
|
Is in that location whatever mode to change the color?? |
|
Yup, in that location .. kinda is is - deviantArt allows CSS for subscribers in their journals - have a await at this news commodity for more information ^^ |
|
uhm... in posting journalism in deviant art, can i mail service a picture along with the column and can i put design??? |
|
To be honest, with such a specific policy question it would be best if you contacted the gallery directors directly - become to the Help Desk and merely post the question there again; you should become an official reply in a twenty-four hours or so ^-^ |
|
|
|
What'southward a subcriber on deviantart TT.TT |
|
thats really helpfull, thanks very much :3.... and by the style, have how let the text on jornals stay on middle ?? |
|
You're welcome. ^-^ I'g not sure whether you lot demand to be a premium fellow member for that, but the code for it would be: <div align="center"> [Your text goes here!!] </div> ^-^ |
|
I can't center-ing my text in Deviant's Comment! |
|
Hi, I don't recall you tin centre text in regular comments at all. From what I know, that'south but possible in journals. ^^ Hope that helps! |
|
Is there a style to make fonts Large? like <minor> I've tried <large>, <large> but zilch works. |
|
Hi, Non in the HTML that devArt permits in regular comments, as far as I am aware. and this in your journal, where you want to have the bigger font: If y'all want more one font size, merely use the same code again, replacing anything with, well, anything (tho the "annihilation" in the elevation and the lesser code take to friction match). Replace "3em" with different numbers (fractions, such as "2.5em" are fine) to go different font sizes. (Technically yous can use different metrics instead of "em", such every bit "3in" for 3 inches, but that messes with the font setting of certain browsers if someone has a prepare it to enlarge all fonts for easier reading and such. That's why I usually stick to "em".) |
